Questions worth clarifying.
Service-specific questions about terms, evidence and execution.
How do an LC and SBLC differ?
A documentary LC generally organises payment against trade-document conditions; an SBLC commonly supports non-performance protection. The exact undertaking and documents depend on the wording.
Is wording alone enough for financing?
Wording starts a review. Validity, issuer, rights, purpose and receiving conditions also matter. Financing approval is separate from the instrument’s payment undertaking.
Does an MT760 record replace all documentation?
Bank messaging can support delivery and confirmation, but a screenshot alone does not establish complete rights. Verify wording, amendments and delivery requirements through bank channels.
Why assess receiving conditions early?
Institutions evaluate issuer, wording, jurisdiction, tenor, rights and purpose. Early scoping reduces incompatible delivery arrangements.
Are transfer, assignment and financing the same?
They involve different rights and agreements. Review permission, eligible parties, bank confirmation and effects on payment and recourse separately.
How should financing costs be separated?
List bank, funding, legal and verification costs, with basis, tenor, timing and refund conditions. A single headline percentage is insufficient for comparison.
Who is responsible if payment fails?
Distinguish document discrepancies, timing, instrument restrictions and financing-agreement responsibilities. Establish each party’s obligations in the relevant documents.
What is the best starting point?
Provide full wording, parties, bank channels, purpose and timing. Clarify rights and open questions before matching financing institutions and execution steps.
